Hi Goths & Goths,

Thanks to you, Visigoths vs Mall Goths is moving along toward production! Here’s what’s happening now and what to expect next.

What’s Already Finished: 

* The entire text of Visigoths vs Mall Goths is written, including all adventure episodes by guest writers! (Only custom content from high-level backers awaits, due December 1st. If you backed a custom content tier, remember to submit your survey!) * The cover art is complete! * All interior character art is complete! * All map illustrations are complete! * The visual styleguide (colors, fonts, columns, etc.) is complete!

Professional Editing

* YOU ARE HERE. We have entered the editing phase. * The manuscript is currently in the hands of our sensitivity editor. She and I will work together over the next month to make sure the game is inclusive and welcoming for a wide variety of players. * After that, the manuscript will go to our stylistic editor and proofreader.

Layout and Graphic Design

* In early Spring of 2020, we plan to send the final manuscript to our graphic designer and layout artist. She will make the game look beautiful on the page.

Printing and Fulfillment 

* Since you unlocked our stretch goal, hardcovers will be gorgeously printed by Bookmobile. Bookmobile will also handle fulfillment (shipping and handling). Our graphic designer and I are currently in communication with Bookmobile about all the fine details, and we will have more information for you as we move closer to that stage of the process. * Softcovers will be fulfilled by DriveThruRPG’s premium color print-on-demand.

BackerKit 

* We’re working with BackerKit to make sure everything goes smoothly with shipping costs. We’ll be waiting until very close to shipping time before sending out surveys for shipping addresses and charging you for shipping, to account for people moving to different addresses and/or changes in postal service prices between now and the game’s completion.

We’re aiming to get the books to you in late June or early July.

Metatopia Convention

Hi Goths & Goths!

I’m on the road to the Metatopia game design convention for a long weekend, to playtest the latest tabletop rpgs in development and meet with some of my collaborators on Visigoths vs Mall Goths. Stay tuned after the convention for a detailed update on the next steps in the editing, layout, and printing of the game!

Unlock Fancy Hardcovers?

Visigoths vs Mall Goths has been on the front page of kickstarter all day today! 

Thanks so much to all our supporters for getting us to this point, and if you just learned about the game today, welcome to the mall!

Stretch Goal & Half-Price PDFs

Visigoths vs Mall Goths fully funded in 24 hours! We now have the minimum funding needed for production, and we get to keep any funds we raise here moving forward. As of this update, we’re at $13,068 from 399 backers!

STRETCH GOAL:

Our current fundraising goal is for a print quality upgrade on the hardcover edition. If we meet this stretch goal, all hardcover editions will automatically upgrade to an art book print run by Bookmobile. Bookmobile will also handle fulfillment. This will unlock if we raise $20,000 *and* get 400 pledges for hardcover editions. (400 is the magic number of books I need to order from Bookmobile to get an affordable unit price per copy.) If you have any friends who might be interested in a hardcover edition, please let them know!

HALF-PRICE PDFs:

We currently have 215 slots available in the $6 Half-Price PDF tier for anyone experiencing economic hardship, no questions asked. If you know anyone who might like a copy of Visigoths vs Mall Goths but can’t afford the full price of the PDF, please let them know this option is available.
